Reintroduce inter-district football tourney
The Inter-district Football, the Office League, the Independence Cup, the National Football and the Aga Khan Gold Cup Football Tournaments once featured the soccer season enjoyed by the uncountable soccer fans. Gradually, most of these competitions began to fade (few thereof are already lost in memory) due to infiltration of politics in BFF and its associated bodies.
Where are Dhaka Wanderers Club, BG Press, PWD, DC Mills, Central Stationery, East End Club and Azad Sporting Club? Where are footballers like Kabir, Shah Alam, Murree, Eugene, Mintoo, Saifuddin, Zaheer, Devnash, Pintu, Patrick, Raymond, Shova, Zamboo, Samad, Ranjit, Nishit and Ashraf in our time?
Where is patron like Sheikh Kamal, who introduced the footballers with the modern techniques of soccer in our country in 1972? Regardless of his political doctrine, he loved football and that is why he did not name his team Kamal Sporting but Abahani KC. We want patron like him in sports.
