Promoting soccer
UNICEF’s goodwill Ambassador Sachin Tendulkar came to Dhaka on Tuesday at the invitation of a former cricket franchise of Bangladesh and returned home the same day. But sadly the media projected him as only a cricket legend of India, which is not surely his current profile.
Sachin Tendulkar is now the owner of a city football team in India and a patron of underway India Super League (ISL) Football. The brain behind this high quality football tournament is Nita Ambani, the co-owner of the Mumbai Indians cricket team.
I do not know why did not the hosts and the media produce him as soccer patron and owner of city football team?
Candidly speaking, we hesitate to give one his due and contrarily give someone more than he or she deserves. We know not when shall we be able to overcome such deficiency?
