Rights presuppose obligations

“State is known by the rights it maintains,” says Harold Laski. “Rights are,” as Hobbes describes, “What we may expect from others and others from us, and all genuine rights are conditions of social welfare.”
Wilde says, “Rights are reasonable claim to freedom in the exercise of certain activities.”
Rights cannot be the selfish claim of anybody in the society. Nobody can claim his right if it harms the general interests of the society. None has the right to spread evils and disorder in the society. Human rights are generally based on religion, justice, and customs and traditions. The state recognition in respect of above three is not necessary.
So, infringement upon the rights of others, hate campaign against religion, and spreading of evils and disquiet are not rights, rather should be suppressed with iron hand.
