Ensure Maximum Punishment For Rapists
Rape has been spreading like a contagious disease in the country lately. It is also now a matter of horror to the tender-hearted children, handicapped, students, laborers, housewives and many more. Women in our society often choose to commit suicide after being raped or sexual harassment and those who survive can’t be able to live without trauma. Due to rape, she and also her family have to carry a social stigma of negligence, though they are not responsible for the crime.
However, we see that if the rapist is a member of the ruling party, he tries to obstruct the trial by getting bail. And he has been successful many times to do that. Now is the right time for us to stand up against the rapists. Whoever the rapist is, he should be brought under punishment.
If the government wants, they can solve this problem by forming special court for speedy trial of the rapists. Besides, punishment for rape is low in Bangladesh. So demand for the death penalty as the highest punishment for rape should be implemented.
