Our Protection Is In Our Hands

The Corona situation is becoming increasingly fragile. In addition to the number of infected patients, the number of deaths is also increasing. As the number of sample tests increases, so does the number of infected people. Despite the strict instructions of the government and the highest supervision of the administration at the field level, people from different districts and upazilas have traveled to other districts or upazilas in various ways. And the influx of homebound people on Eid and their return is feared to be one of the reasons for the tidal wave in the coming days. This time, the new decision to open all public and private offices as well as to introduce conditional public transport will bring our life and health to the extreme risk even if it brings life back to the troubled economy. Because, the public transport system of our country is very chaotic. And in the current crisis, ensuring adequate hygiene will be a huge challenge.
Employees at all levels will now be out of the house due to the opening of offices and other activities. It is important to consider how many people who go to the workplace and the market have the ability and awareness to use all the materials needed for personal protection. Public transport, the market and the workplace are all easy sources of Coronavirus infection. In order to implement the distance specified by keeping the previous fare in public transport in particular, the owner has to accept a significant amount of financial loss. If the rent is increased again, it will put pressure on the middle class, lower middle class and informal sector workers. Life and livelihood are like the back of the same coin. It is now our responsibility to save lives from the invisible deadly virus and to protect our livelihood.
