Keeping the essential commodity
prices stable and supply adequate
The transmission of the COVID-19 not yet stopped. In Bangladesh, the number of infected patients and deaths is increasing day by day. All normal work is suspended. Millions of people have become unemployed. During such a crisis the ‘Ramzan’ — the most holy month of Muslims is in front of us. During this time a class of unscrupulous businessmen and stockholders raise prices for almost every necessary commodity. Artificial crisis is also created. This scenario has also been seen in the early stages of the Corona virus infection. In such a situation, the suffering of the poor and unemployed as well as middle class people goes beyond the limits. The unscrupulous activities of syndicate are not stopped despite the government’s request, direction and strong warning. Although the unexpected situation is temporarily controlled under the strict supervision of the local administration, is doesn’t last for a long period.
Unless the adequate supply and price stability of the essential commodities is ensured, the crisis of the unemployed, helpless and poor people will not be reduced in the current situation. In order to keep the market of essential commodities stable, it is necessary to show the fixed price list in each store, proper and regular monitoring of the local administration. Besides, I am expecting the government and the authorities concerned to take a strict stand on the unscrupulous traders and reservists of illegal syndicates.

Protect the Interest of Marginal Farmers
The country’s economy is naturally devastated by the Coronavirus. The Hon’ble Prime Minister announced the stimulus package for the assured loss of various important sectors of the economy. Agriculture is one of the driving forces of Bangladesh’s economy. She declared Tk 5,000 crore stimulus packages for farmers, as well as the allocation of Tk 9000 crore for fertilizer subsidy in the next budget.
Farmers get the opportunity to get loans at interest rate of 5%. Landless farmers do not get the real value of their hard labour. Due to the dishonest middlemen and miller, many farmers are deprived of the fair value of the crop. Besides, they are also indebted at the end of the season due to the rising prices of seeds, fertilizers and other essential ingredients.
Therefore, in the current deep crisis, it is important to ensure that marginalized landless and low capital farmers are provided benefits. With giving the credit facility to so-called and transparent farmers, it will be difficult to overcome the distress of the agricultural sector. The kind attention of all concerned is highly desired to the mentioned matter.

Wealthy People Must Stand by Needy Ones
The whole world is going on a critical time. It never experienced such sort of lockdown situation. Indeed we are not beyond any doubt how long the crisis will be. In Bangladesh, the circumstance is additionally relegating with time. Fear and freeze expended everyone. Working day labourers are living in trouble. They eat day by day. Their lives have become so troublesome to run. Due to remain domestic, they can’t to do anything to outlive. Where will they work? Is there any workplace for limited income people?
To combat this corona pandemic threat everyone must stay home. In this situation, the most wanted thing is eating minimum food for poor and minute income people in their homes. In this mean time, government has taken a few steps for down and out individuals. Be that as it may, it is inadequately and unmanageable for so in sufficient cases. In this case, with government the rich people must raise their hands. Let us stand beside these poor and hungry people of our own society.
