Save The Northern Region
Flood in northern region, is a common incident for decades and every year the people of this area face this unavoidable sufferings. Most of the time it happens due to sudden or heavy rainfall or water comes from the upstream in India. And heavy rainfall might be the main cause for these situations but the present situation may worsen as India opened the sluice gates of the Farakka Barrage. The people from Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Natore, Pabna, Kushtia, Rajbari, Magura, Manikganj and Faridpur may face flooding in this first week of October. Thousands of people have already been inundated and face this unbearable suffering. They are losing their property, crops, cattle, domestic animals even their lives is in risk also. As the hospitals, cyclone shelters, schools and other high buildings have also been inundated with dirty water, different diseases are spreading out. It is suspected that this year’s season has been longer than usual and the water levels of Padma,J amuma & Gorai specially Padma River may cross the danger level within short time.
So, the respective authority must take proper steps immediately to minimize the probable losses of lives & wealth.
