Save the vultures from dying
I get so hurt after knowing that, the vultures– the nature cleaners — are going to disappear gradually from the country due to the use of Diclofenac and Ketoprofen, both poisonous to animals, while it leads to the massive mortality and a sharp decline in the vulture population.
I know the government is committed to protect wildlife, including vultures. Bangladesh has also been working with the South Asian countries to conserve vulture species. But what is most frustrating that, despite banning of Diclofenac and Ketoprofen by the government it use not yet stopped.
Bangladesh Forest Department had also declared two safe zones at Sylhet and parts of Dhaka and Chattogram for vultures in December 2014. But it didn’t help.
Now, the number of vultures is rapidly declining. I do urge the government to take tough measures to save the rare species of bird which helps to keep clean our surroundings too.
