We need more technically advanced graduates
Unemployment has long been a major challenge for the political leaders and policymakers. Here, I want to focus the necessity of technical education which could contribute immensely to eradicating unemployment and fostering economic uplift. Nobody would deny that, technically-skilled people can successfully create self-employment opportunities to become economically solvent. For this reason, spread of technical education is very much necessary in a country like Bangladesh with a huge population.
Though various government and non-government organisations are offering technical and skill development training, it is not enough in comparison to huge unemployed youths. I like to draw the attention of policymakers that– many unemployed youth, being unaware or not being informed, cannot take such skill development and occupational training. Thus they are not being able to get rid of the curse of unemployment.
While there is an inadequacy of manpower with technical expertise, the big corporate houses have to hire foreign nationals at the mid-level and top-level positions resulting in a huge sum of money is being drained out from Bangladesh every year. I think, our universities will have to pay more attention in producing technically advanced graduates to tackle the situation.
