Drama is everywhere; in politics, in social works and where not!
Residents of the capital were highly surprised seeing that a DNCC staff was throwing garbage from a waste van on the clean road moments before Mayor Atiqul Islam inaugurated the clean-up campaign as part of celebrations of 99th birth anniversary of the country’s Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
However, later it was known that it was DNCC’s additional chief waste management officer’s idea. His intention was very good, very clear. He tried to make the DNCC cleaning programme a successful one to get high coverage on print and electronic media. But someone had captured the event on his smart phone and uploaded it on social media network facebook; and it went viral.
No doubt, the DNCC official had tried to please his new boss. In fact, this is the system and this is the rule if anyone wants to stay longer in a lucrative post. This has become a culture; I mean socio-political culture. Now the official has suspended; paying for his deed. But if the video was not uploaded on facebook, he might be promoted by his new boss.
