Life is still difficult there……
Despite introducing many routes by the government across the country, it is still very difficult for a commuter to travel adjacent city areas without any obstacles. The situation is too hard for the residents who live in the unions of Dhaka; which are not under city corporations. Whereas a large number of people come from there to Dhaka city for various purposes, including treatment and education, almost every day.
As an example, I can describe the problem of residents living in Berubari – Sadullapur areas, which is also adjacent to Savar. If anyone wants to go there, he will have to change transport for a couple of times. There is no direct bus service in the area, though it so close to city. However, there is a boat service through Turag river from Diyabari to Sadullapur. After reaching Diyabari or its adjacent ghats, the villagers can find their desired transports. Otherwise, they have to travelled a long way boarding on tempo, rickshaw and others to come to bus stoppage. In fact, regular travelling of the residents of these areas is full of hardship.
I do urge the authorities concerned to take necessary initiatives in this regard.
