Personal hygiene to fight flu

The news of flu claiming lives of young people is terrifying. Flu may seem like a minor issue that a few pills of Panadol can cure but it is not. It is rather turning into a malady that is killing people. Even a slight rise in body temperature of children is worrying parents. Schools are emphasising on the need for vaccinations, and are raising awareness through health campaigns. Information is also being spread through newspapers. Yet, I see many people taking the disease lightly and still going about their routine life without any precautions.
I see school going children running around, playing, jumping in the ground and then eating without washing their hands. There are a lot of people in Dubai who are still oblivious to the dangers of the deathly flu.
Personal hygiene, which is the most basic of sanitary measures, and vaccination are the best ways to protect yourself. Parents and teachers should reeducate children on the importance of washing hands before eating and maintaining personal hygiene.
I offer my deepest condolences go to the families that have lost their loved ones to this deadly flu. The flu must be stopped before it takes any more lives, and we can stop it. Merely washing our hands before and after eating can make a huge difference. It is wiser to be cautious and careful than to be hasty or rash. Get the flu vaccine before it is too late.
