Poor coverage
More than nine thousand athletes are taking part in the 16 days’ 18th Asian Games in Indonesia. The number of disciplines is 40 and events 465. The Asian Games are the second largest sports meet in the world after the World Olympics in respect of both eminence and gathering. But what a surprise matter it is that the games coverage by the media is poor in our country, which runs counter to our tradition.
The athletes become disappointed at this and the nation’s progress suffer setback. So, we hope that both the print and the electronic media will take initiative in this respect. Once BTV was very active, but nowadays it hibernates.
