Action unusual :
Once Ganajagaran Mancha and its leader Imran H Sarkar were very dear to the AL government. High-ups of the government used to visit their rally at Shahbag regularly. Even the Supreme Court did not hesitate to overturn the life sentence of war criminal Abdul Quader Mollah and ordered that he be put to death because Ganajagaran Mancha demanded it (The Independent 19 September, 2013).
Now it seems that he has fallen from the grace when he started protesting about the extrajudicial killings in the name of controlling drug dealings, police dispersed their procession and arrested Imran H Sarkar from city’s Shahbag area on June 6,2018. It has been disclosed that at least 10 activists were injured as the RAB personnel charged batons. We object this sort of actions by the government and will support Imran H Sarkar as long as he stands beside the people and remains vocal for their rights and security. May he succeed in his endeavour.
