Open Engineering Faculty in JU

University of Dhaka has been imparting eight disciplines of engineering under Faculty of Engineering to cater the need of the country. An action program is necessary to set up engineering institutions, universities etc. to impart under-graduate and graduate courses in different engineering disciplines. Indeed, expansion of general education at this point of time will only inflate the number of educated unemployed, which is a mere wastage of national wealth.
University of Jahangirnagar (JU) was established at the late sixties of last century. It has earned reputation for imparting quality education in Bangladesh. Most of the graduates from JU are doing well in the country. The land area of JU is huge. There is mentionable scope for expansion of its infrastructure. A massive expansion of JU is necessary to impart quality technical education.
Bangladesh needs more engineers in years to come. A lot of engineers of foreign countries have been working in the country whereas there are huge unemployed youths existing in the country who are educated in general education. For making Bangladesh a middle-income country, it needs huge engineers in different schools. The discipline and curriculum are to be made keeping the need of present and future need of Bangladesh. The teaching staffs are to be educated abroad for bringing latest technological ideas to impart engineering education to students who will be asset of future Bangladesh. The authority can utilize the huge campus of JU for making future engineers for Bangladesh to be a rich country in long run.
I like to request the authorities concerned to address the challenge seriously and introduce engineering education in JU as soon as possible.
