People to decide who will govern :
On May 2, 2018 Prime Minister said the people of Bangladesh will surely vote in favour of Awami League this time too if they do not want to push the country to the path of destruction like in 2001
These words have made us very upset because it reminds us the election of 2014 which could be called ‘selection’ when 154 MPs were chosen without people’s mandate. The wound has not healed and it is still bleeding. At that time it was said that the election was held for formalities sake, a proper election will be held without delay. Four years and four months have passed but the time did not come to keep the promise given to the people.
The ruling party must not ignore the pulse of sixteen crore people, their rightful demand of a free and fair election must be fulfilled, they must be allowed to cast their votes in a congenial atmosphere
Liberation war was fought to free us from oppressions, it is unthinkable that we will have to suffer it from our own people, no one will tolerate it so the government must act prudently.
