Release Egyptian journalists
After the Saudi Arabia and the USA backed military coup de’ tat a year ago, the military government of Cairo imprisoned many journalists and the loyal judiciary jailed some of them for different terms.
The military government accused the Al Jazeera journalists of backing up the democratically elected government of Mohammad Morsi. In other words, the military government censured the journalists for supporting democracy against military dictatorship and put them into prison.
The most surprising thing is that the western governments and the international human rights organisations did not ask the Cairo government to release the journalists despite the fact that they performed their professional duties only and were not involved with subversive activities. And we know it that the kings of Gulf States will not send any such message to Cairo because they do not believe in democracy.
The journalists get humiliated not only in Egypt, but in the whole world. They are walloped, killed, imprisoned, kidnapped and disappeared almost in every country because they try to uphold the fact and carry messages of right and wrong to the nations. Except a group of shielded journalists, most are honest, sincere, hard working and patriots.
In the end, we appeal to the Egyptian government to release all the detained journalists in order to prove their commitment to democacy.
