People’s safety should be the main concern
Highways and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader before becoming a minister was vocal about wrong steps of Awami League. He was not afraid to criticise when necessary. We used to appreciate it, thinking here is a person who do not hesitate to call “a spade, a spade”.
But after he became a minister everything has changed. Now he does not see any fault of Awami League, blindly supports its every move. How unfortunate!
Everyday road accidents are taking a huge toll, a great number of people are being killed and many are injured but the Minister is least bothered. We know that in other countries Ministers resign if they fail in their duty and people suffer for their non-caring attitude.
Nowadays Minister Obaidul Quader seems to be more interested in politics, forgetting his responsibility as the Minister of Highways and Bridges.
