The next general election must be flawless
US President Donald Trump called Haiti a “shithole” country which caused uproar in the Caribbean country and people all over the world detested the utterance.
It is a matter of great regret that we have to hear utterances of the same sort from ruling party supreme. Recently she came down heavily on the civil society, calling it ‘dustbin of politics’. She further said, “they are also like that (trash bin) who hang up on their chests ‘use me’ for politics and power”.
The party chief said if anyone believes in democracy then one should go to people and participate in the election. Yes, we remember the election of 2014, with hearts filled with pain and anguish, our democratic right was trodden upon, what an unfortunate nation we are!
We pray and hope that good sense will prevail and the next election will be held in a manner, which will be acceptable to all.
