Revival of BD soccer
The World Cup football has spelled a bout of mesmerizing magic on the sports loving people of the world, where we are no exception. The common people of our country are spending nights being glued to TV sets. Rich or poor are equally affected by the magic pull of football. It is everybody’s query: who is going to lift the most-coveted World Cup trophy? There are a lot of speculations but no definite answer as football is the game of uncertainty. With each passing day the thrill of World Cup football is increasing. Despite being far away from the place where the mega event is taking place, we are very much attached to it.
The standard of football in Bangladesh is much below that of the world. But I am optimistic. If we dream and plan properly, someday we can achieve it. Bangladeshi people love football and we see children playing this universal game at every open space they find. To play football one does not need to have much equipment. Only one ball and some open space are enough. Football teaches teamwork, discipline and increases our confidence level and physical fitness. So, during this occasion of World Cup, let us take a vow to revive the popularity and glory of football.
