Congratulation Rangpur
We congratulate Rangpur Raiders for becoming champions in the fifth edition of the BPL concluded on Tuesday. They played like the champions and delighted the jam-packed stadium with batting skills, calculated bowling and superb fielding. Rangpur finished fourth in the round robin league, but did not lose heart. They reasserted themselves and struck back winning three matches in a row. Surely there are lessons for other teams in their journey.
We also congratulate all other teams, the BCB, patrons, crowd and players, home and overseas.
The BCB, however, should amend byelaws about the number of the overseas players in each team. We think that maximum three players can be registered, but no team can field more than two in order to expose more home talents. The country’s cricket governing body should keep reserve day, because points earned in the round robin league cannot decide the fate of a rain washed match.
We think also that justice will be done henceforth equally to all the participants free of influence and deviation.
