Boys beat India in U-18 Football
And surely it was a fairytale for any format of Bangladesh Football team. Bangladesh football team’s super victory against pre-match favourites India in the SAFF Under-18 Championship in Bhutan on Monday reminds me of an amazing football match of the World Cup Football 1966 held in England. In that match, Portugal beat North Korea 5-3 after down by three goals within the first 15 minutes. It was Eusebio who did miracle for Portugal scoring alone four goals and took his team into the semifinals to face hosts and eventual champions England.
In Bhutan on Monday, Bangladesh U-18 Football team stunned the whole world singing that record is established as a precept for another record in future. They were down by three goals, but who knew that an amazing history was waiting ahead of them.
Thanks to Jafar Iqbal (55, 90 minutes), Rahamat Mia (60) and Sufil (74), who proved that anything can happen in sports. We congratulate Bangladesh footballers, wishing their bright future with a trophy from the Himalayan kingdom.
