Delay in pipelines completion
The work of underground concrete pipelines installation began in April on the Shantipur-Tilpapara Mosque Road, the length is about one-eighth kilometer only, under Khilgaon thana and it still continues. The residents of the area have no idea when the work will be completed because the people of this country are not informed of the time to complete, sources of fund, amount, the name of the work order issuing office and the firm or contractor.
We welcome the work and at the same time want its end as soon as possible.
The slow progress of work causes sufferings to the city residents only.

Ramadan begins June 29
The holy month of Ramadan begins in Saudi Arabia on June 29 according to an agency report published in a Bengali daily. It means that the said month may start in Bangladesh the next day. But the people of several upazilas in Chandour, Barisal and few other districts every year keep fasting in conformity with Saudi Arabia. It is against the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (SM). He said, Keep fasting with the sighting of the Ramadan moon and desist from fasting with the sighting of the Sawal moon.
It is to be remembered that the geographical position of Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia is not on the same longitude and latitude. Moreover, these two countries are not under one principality and, therefore, fasting cannot begin on the same day. We think that the time has arrived to reveal the truth and to vanish the falsehood. There is no room for emotion and sentiment in Islam. Let us keep fasting with the sighting o the moon and cease with the sighting of moon.
