Some painful deaths
Officially it has been claimed that the death of 10 people in fire at Kalshi, Mirpur in Dhaka city is mere a case of an accident. Such statement is, perhaps, one of the greatest mockeries of the recent time. How can a responsible member of the council of ministers say it when men, women and children, nine of a family, are burnt alive in a locked room? Are not they human beings? Don’t they have right to live?
The tragic death reminds us of the return to the state of nature as depicted by political philosopher Hobbs in his famous book ‘Leviathan’. Such horrendous activities must not be allowed to repeat in the interest of all. Whosoever causes such dreadful death and whoso operates from behind shall have to stand for trial in the Court of Allah. The Quran says, “Whosoever commits evil, will have the recompense thereof,”-Surah An-Nisa, Verse 123.
Crime is on rise in our society in absence of the religious teachings at homes and schools. The man who fears the dreadful punishment of Allah will think twice before committing crime. But whoso is misguided will not hesitate. We suggest to the government to gear up religious teachings in order to reduce crime substantially. Will the government share our views?
