Asian Volleyball
The 2017 Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship will be it’s 19th edition. It is the the biennial international men’s volleyball championship of Asia organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). It will be held in Surabaya, Indonesia from 24 July to 1 August 2017. It will be the second time that Indonesia is hosting the tournament after the 2007 Asian Championship. 16 national teams are expected to compete. The tournament features 16 teams to determine the Asian champions in men’s volleyball.
Japan will take part as the defending champions while Iran will be the host favourites.
The teams are Indonesia, Qatar, Kazakhstan and WZ1 in Group A, Iran, Chinese Taipei, Pakistan and WZ2 in Group B, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and Sri Lanka in Group C, while Australia, China, Hong Kong and Thailand in Group D.
The surprising thing is that one team only is representing West Asia and it is Qatar.
Other nations who are expected to produce thrilling performance will be China, South Korea and Australia. But we do not see Bangladesh in the future. It simply points to where Bangladesh Volleyball stands.
