A section of SSC students and guardians demanded re-scrutinising of the multiple choice question (MCQ) part of the mathematics subject claiming students could not achieve their expected results due to a technical glitch of the Chittagong board on Monday .
About 500 students and guardians also submitted a memorandum to the prime minister through Chittagong’s Deputy Commissioner Mesbah Uddin.
Earlier, they held a press conference under the banner of Guardian Forum Chittagong Education Board at Chittagong Press Club.
“As a guardian I’m aggrieved…,” said Advocate Md Jalal Uddin, forum’s convener.
“We do not want any sympathy, we want our fair numbers,” said Tama Debi, a student of Dr Khastagir Girls’ High School.
Mahbub Hasan, board controller, said technical error can occur during any evaluation, adding, students have been asked to apply for re-scrutinising by May 18 through mobile operator teletalk.
“On May 17, we will collect the numbers, recheck every case and the revised result will be published,” he added.
Meanwhile, the High Court yesterday directed the authorities concerned of the Chittagong Education Board to reevaluate the mathematics answer paper of one Maisha Farjana, a candidate of Dr Khastagir Government Girls’ High School, for alleged technical fault in evaluating her paper, in presence of the headmaster and the student of the school in three days, following a writ petition filed by Maisha seeking a reexamination order
