Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) and valiant Freedom Fighter Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu has called upon the young students for bringing laurels in sports to glorify the nation.
The students, both male and female, should become physically stronger and mentally sound through regular practice of sports, exercises along with studies and extracurricular activities to focus the nation at the local and international levels, he said.
The City Mayor was addressing concluding ceremony of the annual sports competitions- 2016 of Adarsha Kindergarten and Adarsha High School under Ward No-21 in the city on Thursday as the chief guest.
With Female City Councilor Manjuri Begum in the chair, City Councilor Mahbubar Rahman Manju, noted social workers Abdur Razzaque and Khairul Islam Swadin and Headmaster of the institution Abdul Malek addressed as the special guests.
The teachers and students of the institution, guardians, public representatives, civil society members, youngsters, socio-cultural and professional personalities and elite of the city enjoyed the day-long sports competitions.
Later, the chief guest distributed prizes among winners of different sports events after the discussion meeting in the ceremony followed by a cultural function.
