Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has launched close circuit (CC) cameras at 17 important points in the city for public safety.
The RCC authority has launched the modern technology in a formal function at its conference hall today aims at presenting a safer city before the citizens.
Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Shafiqul Islam and Mayor-in-Charge of RCC Nizam Ul Azim addressed the launching ceremony as the chief and special guests respectively with RCC Chief Executive Officer Dr Sharif Uddin in the chair.
During his concept paper presentation, Ashraful Haque, Chief Engineer of RCC, illustrated the salient features of the cameras which were commissioned at a cost of around Taka 67.55 lakh.
The modern cameras having no wire, but will be functioning through radio link. There is no chance of damage by storm and rain. All requisite devises like base and receiver towers and lighting arrester were installed for proper and effective functioning of the cameras.
