Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) on Friday announced annual budget of Tk 645.0572784 crore for the fiscal 2015-2016 without imposing any new levy for the city dwellers.
Rangpur City Corporation (RCC), Mayor Alhaj Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu announced the budget at a function arranged at RCC conference room in the presence of RCC councilors, officials, and journalists.
Speaking on the occasion the Mayor said that the proposed budget attached special emphasis on infrastructure developments, education, health, removal of water logging, water supply, removal of waste and sanitation in the extended areas of the city.The RCC Mayor also said “It is a development-oriented one aiming at providing better civic amenities to the city dwellers”.
The proposed budget includes income of over Tk 56.4818605 crore from revenue earnings and Taka 588.5754179 crore as development assistances from the annual development programmes (ADP), special government allocations and different donor agencies and foreign- assisted projects. Under the proposed budget, over Taka 4.37crore will remain as surplus.
The RCC Mayor also sought cooperation from city dwellers and journalists, to ensure proper implementation of the proposed budget. The Mayor also said “We are committed to build the city in a planned way for improving living and livelihood condition of the city dwellers”.
