Swadhinata Padak is the highest state award given by the government of Bangladesh. Introduced in 1977, this award is bestowed upon Bangladeshi citizens or organisations in recognition of substantial contribution to one of many fields, including the War of Liberation.
Country’s one of the legendary actors Razzak will get Swadhinata Padak this year. He will receive the award from the Prime Minister on March 25.
After informing the matter Razzak shared his feelings by this way, “I am really feeling well. In fact, my family members are now very much eager to celebrate the event. I am also happy because I am going to receive the award in time. I am grateful to the Government and people of Bangladesh to show me the highest honour of the state. Everybody pray for me.”
Today Razzak acted and his son Bapparaz, also film actor, directed first film titled Kartuz is going to release in different cinema halls across the country.
Late Chashi Nazrul Islam, Nipun, Samrat, Sohan Khan, Farzana Rikta, Shimul Khan, among others, also acted in different roles in the film.
Earlier Razzak got five times National Film Award including the category of Lifetime Achievement Award. He got the awards for Zahirul Haque’s Ki Je Kori, Azizur Rahman’s Ashikkhito, Mohiuddin’s Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo, Chashi Nazrul Islam’s Chandranath and Rahim Newaj’s Jogajog. Bobita, Anjana, Anju, Doyel and Shabnam performed against him in these films respectively.
