Noted actress Raveena Tandon, who is currently riding high on the success of KGF Chapter 2, spoke about being fat-shamed in a recent interview. She recalled how she was asked about putting on weight post-delivery.
In an interview with NDTV GoodTimes, the actress recalled the time when she and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were trolled for putting on weight after their kids’ birth. “There was a time when I had put on a lot of weight after I just delivered my son. And I remember, I started working after that and there was a press conference and that time they were fat-shaming me, they were fat-shaming Aishwarya Rai and I stood up for her at that time and I said she just had a baby,” Raveena told NDTV Goodtimes.
She further revealed how she gave it back to a journalist who asked her about putting on weight at a press conference. “So at a press conference a journalist said, ‘Aray Raveena ji aap kitni moti ho gayi hain, aap kya mast cheez hua karti thi or ab aap reality show kar rahi hain’ (Raveena you have gained so much weight, you used to so good and now you are doing these reality shows). I told him ‘dekhiye bhaisahab motapa toh ghat jayega lekin aapki surat kaise badal payegi’ (I told him that my fat will go away but how will you change your face),” Raveena told NDTV Goodtimes.
Raveena Tandon will be seen next in the romantic comedy Ghudchadi with Sanjay Dutt. It is directed by Binoy Gandhi and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Nidhi Dutta, and Binoy Gandhi.
