The Shamsher Ali third FIDE Rating Women’s Chess tournament begins today (Friday) at Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) Hall-Room at old building of National Sports Council.
Commanding Officer of RAB-3 Lt Col M Emranul Hasan is expected to inaugurate the meet as the chief guest.
Vice-President of BCF M Shahidullah, its general secretary Syed Shahab Uddin Shamim, Golden Sporting Club adviser M Sarowar, its president Mohammad Amir Ali Rana and Managing Director of Elegant International Chess Academy Mahmuda Hoque Chowdhury Moly will present as special guests.
Bangladesh Mohila Daba Samity president WIM Rani Hamid will preside the opening ceremony.
This competition is open for all women and girls of all ages and it will be played in seven round Swiss League system with cash prize of Taka 65,000.00 (sixty five thousand) will be given to the winners.
