Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam attended as chief guest and Additional DIG in Police Mashrukur Rahman Khaled Bpm (Bar) and Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Zillur Rahman as special guests.
It was addressed among others by District Awami League general secretary & Special PP Advocate M.A Afzol, Hindu Kallan Trusti Advocate Bhupendra Bhowmick Dholon, former Trusti Lipu Roy, Municipal Councillor Moti Miah, ex.Councillor and Hindu community leader Aron Kumar Shaha.
DC Mohammad Shamim Alam said religious always works for bringing peace and prosperity in the country which eliminates terrorism, extremism and fundamentalism.
Additional DIG Mashrukur Rahman Khaled Bpm (Bar) called upon all to aviod fundamentalists who infuse fundamentalism in the country.
Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent reports : The Rath Yatra of Sri Sri Jagannath Deva has been held at Ishwardi. On Friday afternoon, the procession left the Karmakarpara Mother Temple. Mayor of the municipality Ishaq Ali Malitha inaugurated the rally organized on the occasion of Rath Yatra. Police Officer-in-Charge Arvind Sarkar, Press Club President Prof. Swapan Kumar Kundu, Matri Mandir General Secretary Madhab Chandra Pal, Puja Udjapan Parishad Upazila Vice-President Milon Karmakar, Pabna University of Science and Technology Lecturer Subrata Biswas, BCL General Secretary Sumon Das, Hindu Mahajot’s Devdulal Thousands of Hindu female and male devotees including Rai were present.
BSS from Rangpur says : The Sanaton community began celebrating the nine-day Shree Shree Jagannath Dev’s ‘Ratha Yatra’, one of their major religious festivals, in the city Friday afternoon.
Elaborate programmes including inaugural function, discussion, ‘podaboli’ and ‘bhakti’ kirtans, offering puja and ‘archona’ and distribution of ‘Prasads’ and pulling of the chariot of Sree Sree Jagannath Dev were arranged marking celebrations of the festival.
The nine-day celebration programmes also include ‘Agnihotro Jaggya’, ‘Sangkirton, discussion on Jagannathdeb’s ‘Leela Mahattaya’, ‘Raj Bhog’, prayers, ‘Mohaharinam Sangkirton’, ‘Ulto Ratha Yatra’ and cultural functions.
Deputy Commissioner Md Asib Ahsan attended the discussion held on the ‘Shree Shree Madan Mohan Thakurbari Akhra Paul Para Mandir’ premises as the chief guest.
