Police arrested an accused of juvenile-rape named Rezwan Mia, conducting a drive in an exceptional mode of pilgrimage (Haji) recently . He was arrested through a fancy tactical raid at Balipara village of Fatehpur union in Sylhet’s Jaintiapur upazila.
Rezwan is the son of Ahmed Ali of Shukinpur village of Jaintipur union.
It is learned that Rezwan abducted his nephew and arrested him in a CNG auto-rickshaw driver’s house in a remote village and raped him multiple times. In this case, the father of the rapist did not get justice even if he was socially judged.
On the other hand, a local UP member called for trial in order to streamline the rape case in a different way and to ruin the rape evidence.
After receiving no justice, Victim filed a written complaint in the Jintapur Model Police Station on July 17, two months after the incident.
The police investigated and found the actuality of the incident, and information came out that the rapist, Rezwan, had already committed several such offenses earlier and underwent jailed several times. Within a few days of his release, he abducted his nephew and raped her.
Police on July 18, regarded Victim’s written complaint as a case-number 8/104. Several teams of police raided the Upazila at different places to search for the real mystery of the case and to arrest Rezawan, the rapist. The clever rapist escapes sensing the police presence.
Meanwhile, the police took the case as a challenge to investigate the actual mystery of the incident and the police became desperate to arrest the rapist. Eventually, the police started raiding various places with the intention of arresting the accused.
At one point, Jizantapur Model Police Station SI Azizur Rahman impersonated as Haji and arrested the rapist Rezwan Mia at around 3 pm on Saturday.
Jantapur Model Police Station OC Shyammal confirmed the arrest of the rapist Rezwan, saying that rapist Rezwan had already been imprisoned for such crime. As soon as he released from jail, he again committed such an incident. In the primary interrogation, he confessed the crime.
The accused will be produced in court on Sunday, said OC Shyammal Banik.
