A Chattogram court on Wednesday awarded life-term rigorous imprisonment to a youth on charges of violating a female child in Biswaspara area under Pahartali thana in the city in 2011. The court also fined him TK 50 thousand for the same crime in default to suffer more six-month imprisonment.
The judge Motahar Ali of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal- 2 delivered the judgment convicting Mohammad Sabuj, 20, son late Nuruddin, hailing from Noakhali district.
The prosecution story in brief, is that Mohammad Sabuj violated a seven- year-old female child alluring her to give chocolates on October 28, 2011. Later, the victim’s father filed a case with Pahartali thana on the same day.
The court after examining nine out of 14 prosecution witnesses awarded the judgement convicting Mohammad Sabuj.
