A housewife filed a rape case against Mubarak Hossain Jewel, the car driver of Feni’s Women and Child Torture Prevention Tribunal.
Judge Mohammad Osman Haider of Feni Women Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal on Sunday accepted the complaint and ordered Feni PBI to inuestigate.
Adv Jahangir Alam Nantu said that the victimised housewife filed a case against the driver Mubarak Hossain Jewel of the Women and Child Torture Prevention Tribunal. The court took cognisance of the case and ordered Feni PBI to investigate. Mubarak Hossain Jewel is the son of Abdul Jabbar of Bathania village of Panchgachia Union of Feni Sadar Upazila. He is the driver of the Judge of Women and Child Abuse Tribunal.
According to the case report, the victim of rape got married in 2012. She has a daughter. The housewife’s husband was a friend of Saiful, a man from the village of Sonagazi, Maheschar. Driver Jewel used to go to her house 2/3 times with Saiful. On March 12, 2017, accused Mubarak Hossain Jewel went to the girl’s rented house and searched for her husband.
Accused entered the room asking for a glass of water and raped her by a unconscious handkerchief. The husband is a cancer patient and the housewife who is the victim of rape keeps silent because of the shame of the society. Jewel took pictures of the rape incident on his mobile phone. He blackmailed her about releasing the video on the net and demanded money. The criminal took Tk 5 lakh in various stages. Similarly, she was blackmailed and raped hundreds of times at different times. The woman tries to commit suicide, thinking about her infant daughter and her cancer-stricken husband, and fails. About 2 years ago, to get rid of the accused’s torture, she changed her house and rented a house in Belayt’s Building in Ward No. 8 of Songazi Municipality. In the new rented house as well, the accused raped her several times after showing fear as before.
The husband of the raped housewife demanded exemplary punishment for Jewel.
