WIM Rani Hamid of Golden Sporting Club emerged as unbeaten champion in the Shamsher Ali Memorial Women’s FIDE Rating Chess tournament held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on Thursday.Rani Hamid earned 6.5 points to clinch the title. WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin of Bangladesh Navy and WFM Zakia Sultana of Agrani Bank Daba Dal earned 5.5 points each, in tie-breaking system Shirin became the runners-up and Zakia secured the 3rd position. Four players earned 5 points each. Their positions are: 4th-WFM Nazrana Khan Eva of Bangladesh Navy, 5th-Jahanara Haqur Runu of Mohila Daba Samity, 6th-Hamida Mahmud of Mohila Daba Samity and 7th-Protiva Talukder of Bangladesh Navy. Four players earned 4.5 points each.Their positions are 8th-Farjana Hossain Annie, 9th-Afrin Jahan Munia of Mohila Daba Samity, 10th-Fatema Tuz Zohara Sraboni of Narayanganj and 11th-Janatul Ferdous of Jannat Chess Club. Fardina Hossain Arina got best unrated prize, Sraboni got best Under-18 prize and Jannat got best Under-12 prize.
