National Cricket League: Rangpur trail by 185 against Chittagong

Rangpur Division were trailing by 185 runs with 5 wickets in hand against Chittagong Division in the 1st innings on day-2 in a Tier-2 four-day match of the 18th National Cricket League (NCL) at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Meanwhile, the 2nd day’s play of another Tier-2 match between Rajshahi Division and Sylhet Division was called off due to rain at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi. Rajshahi scored 94/2 in 27.3 overs in the 1st innings on the first day against Sylhet.
Replying to Chittagong Division’s 368/10 in 106.2 overs in the 1st innings, Rangpur Division opened the 1st innings on day-2 and were 183/5 in 59 overs at stumps.
Dhiman Ghosh and Tanveer Haider were on batting scoring 36 and 19 runs respectively when the bells were drawn for the 2nd day.
Opener Saymon Ahmed was out for 53 off 105 balls, featuring seven boundaries while Mahmudul Hasan and skipper Naeem Islam added 39 and 18 runs respectively.
Yasir Arafat Mishu captured three wickets for 36 runs in 12 overs while Tasamul Haque took two wickets for 55.
Earlier, Chittagong Division, who were sent in to bating on day-1, resumed the 1st innings with the overnight score of 294/5 in 87 overs and ended up at 368/10 in 106.2 overs on the 2nd day.
Number nine batsman Noor Hossain scored unbeaten 40 off 52 balls, including four boundaries and one six, on the day. Two overnight batsmen Irfan Sukkur and Sazzadul Haque scored 33 and 14 runs respectively.
Rangpur Division pace bowler Alauddin Babu grabbed three wickets for 73 while Sajedul Islam took two for 65 runs in the innings.
