Rangpur shrine’s Khadem killing verdict Mar 18

A court here fixed March 18 for delivering it verdict in a case filed over the killing a Khadem ( Caretaker ) of a shrine in Kaunia Upazila in 2015.
Judge Naresh Chandra Sarker on Sunday fixed the date after concluding cross examinations in presence of 11 accused, said Advocate Rathish Chandra Bhowmik public prosecutor of the court.
The 11 accused in the case- JMB Rangpur region commander Masud Rana and members Isahq Ali, Liton Mia alias Rafiq, Abu Sayed, Shakhawat Hossain, Towfiqul Islam, Sarwar Hossain alias Sabu,

Sadat alias Raton,Jahangir Hossain alias Rajib, Babul Akhter and Bijoy alias Ali remained behind the bar while two other accused Najibul Islam and Chandu Mia are on the run.
According to the case statement, miscreants hacked and slaughtered Rahmat Ali, khadem of a shrine, to death at Chaitarmore of Tepamadhupur union in the Kaunia Upazila while he was returning home from local a m baaar on November 10, 2015.
Victim’s son Advocate Shafiqul Islam filed a murder case with the Kaunia police station. After investigation, police pressed charges against 14 JMB members.
The court, on August 16 in 2017, dropped two militants-Nazrul Islam alias Bike Hasan, of Panchagarh and Saddam Hossain, of Kurigram, from the chargesheet as they were killed in a gunfight with the law enforcers and framed charge against 12 accused.The court set the date for delivering its verdict after recording testimonies of 46 prosecution witnesses.
