Rangpur Riders have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate against Dhaka Dynamites during their AKS BPL 2017 match held on Tuesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur, said a press release.
Match Referee Samiur Rahman imposed the fine after Rangpur were found to be two (02) overs short of the mark when time allowances were taken into consideration.
In accordance with Article 2.5.1 of the BCB Code of Conduct for players and player support personnel, which relates to minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fail to bowl within the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.
Accordingly, Rangpur Captain Masrafe Bin Mortaza has been fined 40 percent of his match fee, while his players have received 20 percent fines. Mortaza pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction and as such there was no need for a formal hearing.
The charge was laid by on-field umpires Riaz Uddin and Anisur Rahman, third umpire Morshed Ali Khan and fourth umpire Moniruzzaman Tinku.
