On the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Great Victory Day, a Mini Marathon Competition was organized by Rangpur District Administration.
Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Asib Ahsan inaugurated the competition at the main gate premises of Begum Rokeya University on Wednesday morning presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Golam Rabbani. District Sports Officer SIM Ferdous Alam was present on the occasion. In the Mini Marathon, hundreds of men and women of different ages ran a 6 km long journey from the gate of Begum Rokeya University to the gate of Rangpur District School.
In the men’s category, Rifat Islam became first, Omar Farooq second, Kawsar Ahmed third and in the women’s category, Sultana, Sumaiya and Rekha Akhter became first, second and third respectively.
