Rangpur divisional development workshop of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) organised by LGED Rangpur office was held at Prime Medical College Auditorium, Rangpur on Saturday.Chief Engineer of LGED Md. Abul Kalam Azad presided over the day-long workshop.
It was disclosed in the workshop that LGED is implementing various development programmes in current fiscal across the country of which works of around Tk 20 billion (2,000 crores) is being implemented in eight districts of Rangpur Division. Some 33 projects are being implemented for urban, rural and water resources development in Rangpur region with the financial assistance from World Bank, ADB, JICA, IFAD, Saudi Fund and some other organisations alongside those provided by the Government of Bangladesh.
Addressing the workshop the chief engineer also directed the concerned officials to ensure the cent percent implementation of the current annual development programmes.
The chief engineer also directed the Project Directors and high officials to ensure the quality works as well as timely completion of the projects including projects for the abolished enclave people funded by the Government of Bangladesh
Some 400 officials including LGED Additional Chief Engineer, superintending engineers, project directors and executive engineers of LGED from all the districts under Rangpur Division were also present on the occasion.
