Tanveer hits ton: Rangpur lead Sylhet by 259 runs

Rangpur Division is leading by 259 runs against Sylhet Division on the 2nd day of the four-day 6th round match of the Walton 15th National Cricket League at Fatullah Outer Stadium in Narayanganj on Sunday.
Rangpur Division resumed the first innings in the morning with their overnight score of 256 for 7 and piled up a comfortable 391 runs for all in 132.4 overs.
Night watch batsman Tanveer Haider (62) completed a century making 111 runs off 290 balls featuring seven boundaries in addition to Naeem Islam’s impressive 144 runs on the first day (Saturday).
Lower order Suhrawardy Shuvo, who was batting with zero, contributed a polished 72 runs off 124 balls hitting seven fours guiding Rangpur Division to a good total.
Nasum Ahmed, who bagged five wickets for 58 runs on Saturday, completed his superb spell grabbing seven wickets for 97 runs while spinner Enamul Haque Jr took two for 116 runs.
In reply, Sylhet Division opened the first innings Sunday afternoon and scored 132 runs for 7 in 45 overs with opener Shanaj Ahmed making 71, veteran Rajin Saleh 12 and Enamul Haque Jr 12 runs.
Subashish Roy bagged three wickets for 40 runs while Suhrawardy Shuvo claimed two for 28 runs.

At Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar, Khulna Division took a 41-run first innings lead against Dhaka Metropolis team on the 2nd day of the four-day 6th round Walton National Cricket League on Sunday.
Replying to Dhaka Metropolis’ first innings total of 172 runs, Khulna Division resumed the first innings Sunday morning with overnight total 46 for 1 and were all out for 213 runs in 81.4 overs.
Lower order Nizamuddin contributed the team highest 61 run, followed by Tushar Imran 55, night watch Rabiul Islam Rabi 29, Mithun Ali 26, Imrul Kayes 14 and Soumya Sarkar 10 runs.
National cricketer Mahmudullah Riyad took our wickets for 45 runs while Aratfat Sunny captured two for 39.
