Rangamati Free Day was observed in a befitting manner on Tuesday (Dec 17).
Freedom fighter Lt Colonel (Retired) Monish Dewan inaugurated the day’s programmes by hoisting the national flag on Shaheed MA Ali Monument premises in front of Hill District Development Board.
At that time, member a freedom fighter family Abu Shahadat Sayem and General Secretary of an NGO Jibon were also present.
Later, an hour-long human chain was formed, where the national flag was first hoisted in Rangamati. The human chain also demanded preservation of the place and celebration of the day in a befitting manner.
