UNB, Savar :
Injured workers as well as relatives of the deceased and missing workers in the Rana Plaza collapse on Friday claimed most of the victim families have not yet received any compensation.
They brought out a procession and held a rally under the banner of Garment Sramik Sanghati in front of the debris of the Rana Plaza site to press for the demand of compensation.
Speakers noted that although 1,136 workers were listed to be dead in the building collapse, only 332 families have received ‘donation’ in the name of compensation for the death of their relatives.
Besides, the families of about 200 missing workers have not yet got any assistance, they added.
They slammed the government, the buyers and the owners of the readymade garment (RMG) factories for not taking adequate measures to distribute compensations though 18 months have passed since the collapse of the building.
