Ramgarh Municipal election held peacefully

Municipal elections have been held in a very fair and peaceful atmosphere at Ramgarh in Khagrachhari. Voters cast their ballots by EVM at 9 polling stations in the municipality on Tuesday (November 2) from 8am to 4am. Voter turnout was also high at the centers.
This time Awami League nominee and Ramgarh Municipal Awami League president Md. Rafiqul Alam Kamal was elected unopposed as mayor and incumbent councilor in ward 6 Md. Shamim was also elected unopposed.
As a result, councilors were elected in 6 general wards and 3 reserved (women) wards in the vote on Tuesday. The councilors elected in the privately declared results are: Md. Abdul Haque in Ward No. 1, Shyamal Tripura in Ward No. 2, Md. Ziaul Haque in Ward No. 3, Md. Ahsan Ullah (current Councilor) in Ward No. 4, Md. Jamal Uddin Sikder in Ward No. 5 (Current Councilor), Md. Abul Bashar (Current Councilor) in Ward 7, Jasim Uddin Chowdhury in Ward 8 and Md. Abul Kashem (Current Councilor) in Ward 9. Bibi Ayesha in reserved ward no. 1, Konika Bara-ya in ward no. 2 and Anwara Begum in ward no. 3 were elected unofficially. 3 of the elected women councilors are current councilors.
A large number of members of RAB, BGB, police and Ansar Bahini including 9 executive magistrates were deployed at 9 centers to conduct the elections in a fair and peaceful environment. This is the 4th election of Ramgarh municipality.
