On 8 December 1971, the flag of independent Bengal was flown at Ramgarh after defeating the Pak aggressors. Ramgarh, a sub-divisional town bordering the Sector 1 of the Liberation War, was liberated on this day.
Ramgarh Raid Free Day is celebrated on Wednesday (December 6) through various programs. A procession was taken out on Wednesday morning on the occasion of the day at the initiative of the upazila administration. Various organizations including Upazila Parishad, Upazila Administration, Birmuktijoddha, Ramgarh Municipality, Upazila Awami League and its affiliates, Muktijoddha Sontan Command laid wreaths at the end.
