Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has a vital role towards promoting women entrepreneurship for the sake of bolstering the rural economy.
All the branch level officials and other field staffs of the bank should discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty. As a whole, they should be committed to reach the banking services to the doorsteps of the potential women to attain the cherished goal.
Board of Directors of the bank made these observations at RAKUB’s 444th board meeting held at its board room here on Thursday afternoon with Chairman Prof Dr Shah Newaz Ali in the chair, RAKUB sources said on Friday.
RAKUB, headquartered in Rajshahi, has been operating its banking activities as the largest development partner in all the 16 northwest districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions targeting its agricultural sector and all its sub-sectors. The meeting puts emphasis on increasing funding to women entrepreneurs, with innovative strategies and diverse products.
It also mentioned that Bangladesh Bank assured all scheduled banks of providing necessary support for funding women entrepreneurs.
The meeting noted that the bank’s administrative and operational activities must be more transparent and accountable alongside farmers- friendly for boosting agricultural production.
