BSS, Joypurhat :
Rajshahi Krishi Unnayon Bank ( RAKUB), Joypurhat region, has disbursed a total of Taka 90.45 crore as agriculture and business loan to 12,693farmers and small businessmen of the district during the last fiscal 2013-2014.
The bank distributed loans through its 15 branches under Joypurhat Sadar, Panchbibi, Akkelpur, Kalai and Khetlal upazilas of the district.
On the other hand, the bank has also recovered Taka 129.60 crore against the target of Taka 106.74 crore at the same period as outstanding loan from 13,000 borrowers.
The loan was disbursed for crop production, fisheries, animal resources, farm and irrigation machineries, agro-based industries, SMEs, micro credit, poverty reduction, classified loan and other need-based sectors.
Mozammel Hoque, Joypurhat Zonal Manager of RAKUB, told BSS that the bank attained its disbursement and recovery targets in the just concluded financial year.
