Spinner Rakibul Hasan captured four wickets, including a hat-trick powered Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team to earn a massive seven-wicket victory over their counterpart Scotland in their ICC World Cup Under-19 cricket match at Potchefstroom on Tuesday.
Rakibul’s four-for and two wickets each from Shoriful Islam and Tanzim Hasan Sakib bundled the Scots out for just 89 off 30.3 overs.
Barring Uzzair Shah (27), Angus Guy (11) and Jamie Cairns (17) of Scotland batsmen could reach double figures.
Rakibul fulfilled his hat-trick in the 24th over when he bowled out Kess Sajjad, trapped Lyle Robertson leg before wicket and then bowled out Charlie Peet in the third, fourth and fifth ball respectively.
Later, Bangladesh sailed home making 91 for the loss of three wickets in 16.4 overs.
Bangladesh also had a bumpy ride in their chase as Sean Fischer-Keogh hit thrice to leave them on 35 for 3, but Mahmudul Hasan Joy’s 35-run innings made sure the Young Tigers’ win.
Opener Parvez Hossain Emon made 25, while Towhid Hridoy scored 17.
